Unfortunately, the program was not recorded by the local cable company, but hopefully you, as families, were able to get some video memories or digital ones! :)
I was and am so extremely proud of these students!
Ms. Olson's class gives a sneak peek of "We're Making Music"
The First Grade Music program is February 21, 2013!
At 5:30, classes include Mrs. Brezensk’s , Mrs. Juszczyk’s, Mrs. Mandli’s, and Ms. Olson’s.
At 6:30, classes include Mrs. Froden’s, Mrs. Knapp’s, Mrs. Rotunno’s, and Mrs. Schimanski’s.
This is an informal performance, giving families a taste of what we do in music class! Each class will be featured on stage in one song, and sing as backup, sitting on the carpeted floor of the gym for the rest of the songs. Students may dress up for the program, but will want to wear something comfortable for movement. Please take your child’s coat with you to your seat
Doors to the Primary School will open no earlier than 5:15 pm
Due to copyright laws, DVD copies of this program will no longer be available. The program will be videotaped for future viewing on McFarland Cable TV Channel 98 (analog) 982 (digital). If you plan to videotape on your own, please remember to do so from the back wall of the gym.
As an extra credit extension learning opportunity for our rhythm unit, second graders are encouraged to work on Rhythm Trainer http://www.therhythmtrainer.com/ and email me results of at least 25 rhythms completed. My school email is kathryn_kellen@mcfarland.k12.wi.us
Participant names will be placed in a drawing for small prizes before Spring Break!
The new exciting learning tool in the CE music classroom is our Smart Board!
I am using Sibelius' Groovy Music-Shapes software to give the students an interactive overview of many music concepts. (I found this to be very engaging and effective at my former school with kindergarten students.)
It thrills me to have all my students experience success and engage in learning with the incorporation of technology, meeting the needs of different learning styles!
